| To publicise sailing events in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, China Netcom Group Corporation had this exhibition centre designed and constructed in Qingdao, China. The Centre not only presents the company's latest business developments in China, but promotes its image, improves public relations and raises awareness to the public.
The designers developed the project by dividing the centre into three main areas: the first shows the development of CNC and its network, while the other two areas guide visitors in understanding the applications of the CNC network.
Guests travel a curved route that brings them through the space. Netcom's corporate colours, blue and green form the colour palette accented by an effective lighting system with LED, glass materials, and steel. An interactive system was created to provide synchronous presentations with displays and information in a tight space.
The design firm performed extensive research before commencing work on the project, and China Netcom Group Corporation took an active part to ensure whilst a cost-saving approach was effected, various criteria were met as well.
