| Built for the CTCI Thailand Company Ltd., the Kiang Saket Energy Centre of 1,800 sq. m. is the largest visitor centre in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate located in Rayong, Thailand. The centre contains several areas of exhibit space including a lobby, the auditorium, a reception area and meeting rooms.
Particular attention was given to the conceptual design, the interior design of the space, the control of the audio visual system, multimedia and interactive software production, and the development of thematic landscapes. The design theme conveys the concept of the harmony between nature and technology.
The space was divided into four areas. The "Main Lobby," located at the centre of the building, represents the origin of life. Here, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The Gallery "24" displays human activities for every hour of the day and the Gallery "Why Coal?" presents the generation of electricity in Thailand. Galleries three and four, "Who BLCP Is" and "Green Power Plant," through the effective use of interactive models and graphics, show the importance of coal power plants and explain topics such as energy conservation and environmental control.
The effective use of 3-D interactives audio visual and multimedia systems made this space a unique and exciting exhibit to visit. It helped the designers develop the true message of the centre: every single activity involves electricity.
This project succeeded in creating a peaceful environment to better the relationship between the community and the mega-scale technology of the power plant. |
